Business Development - Internship

We develop enhanced electro-optical/infrared systems (EO/IR), autonomous platforms, and sensor technologies. The OKSI Business Development (BD) - Technical Integration Intern sits at the intersection of OKSI's engineering capabilities and its government business development mission. Interns will learn to translate OKSI's highly specialized technical capabilities into compelling capture strategies, customer engagements, and proposal narratives — serving as a credible bridge between OKSI's engineers and its DoD customers. Interns will gain hands-on experience across the full Technical Integration BD lifecycle — from technology familiarization and market research through capture planning, technical proposal development, and customer engagement — working directly alongside OKSI's BD, engineering, and contracts teams.

As a SkillBridge participant, you will engage in a structured Business Development training program, not an employment role. Under the guidance of an experienced mentor, you will receive exposure to the core functions of Business Development in the defense and business-to-business environment. Training activities may include: learning how organizations identify, qualify, and assess new business opportunities; understanding customer ecosystems across government, prime, and commercial markets; observing and participating in simulated product briefings and demonstrations; studying how conferences, industry events, and whitepapers support market positioning; gaining insight into how BD interfaces with engineering, product development, and research and development efforts; learning how organizations identify capability gaps and align research and development initiatives to warfighter needs. The program provides broad exposure to all major BD topics, with depth scaled to the approved participation window. Some advanced topics are introduced at a high level and explored in greater detail only if the participant transitions to full-time employment after separation. Participants are encouraged to take initiative in their learning, including independent study and professional development, recognizing that the value gained from the program reflects the effort invested. This training opportunity is designed to prepare participants for long-term success in Business Development and the defense industry, while supporting OKSI’s mission to develop and deliver intelligent systems and software that support the warfighter.

• To have served at least 180 days in any of the U.S. Armed Forces • To be within 180 days of separation or retirement from any of the U.S. Armed Forces (please start your application prior to the 180 days) • Must be on track to receive an Honorable Discharge • Must have taken any service TAPS/TGPS • Must have command approval to participate in the DoW SkillBridge program • US Citizenship AND a current Secret security clearance eligibility• SOF, ISR, or intelligence background• Experience with EO/IR systems, ISR platforms, directed energy, defense acquisition (PM/requirements), signals intelligence, aviation sensors, or related technical fields• College Degree• Leadership Courses• Writing Skills
