Terms of Service

By using SkillBridge Connect you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site. The service is operated by Civic Hacking; reach us at help@civichacking.org.

We aggregate the public DoW SkillBridge directory and add a trust layer on top of it: search, MOS matching, an application tracker, employer dossiers, reviews, and computed metrics such as the SkillBridge Health Score. We are an information and connection service. We are not an employer, not a staffing agency, not a government entity, and not your career counselor.

You need an account for the interactive features. You agree to give accurate information, keep your credentials secure, and not share your account. You must be at least 13 years old. You're responsible for activity under your account; tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.

Counselor and employer roles carry access to other people's data and are granted only after review. Misrepresenting your role or affiliation is grounds for immediate termination.

Listing details, points of contact, eligibility notes, and locations are scraped from skillbridge.mil, which we do not control. Listings can be stale, duplicated, or abandoned — that's precisely why we publish freshness and reachability signals rather than hiding them.

Wage figures are Bureau of Labor Statistics occupation-group estimates for the field a program leads into. They are not an offer, a salary range, or a promise from any employer.

The SkillBridge Health Score is our own computed opinion from public activity signals. It is not an endorsement, a certification, or a guarantee of an employer's conduct. Missing data never counts against an employer, and no employer can pay to change their score.

You keep ownership of what you write. You grant us a license to host and display it as needed to run the service — for example, showing your application to the employer you sent it to, or publishing your review.

Reviews must describe your own genuine experience. Don't post anything false, defamatory, harassing, discriminatory, or that reveals classified, controlled, or another person's private information. We may remove content that violates this, and we may remove reviews we have good reason to believe are fake — in either direction. We will not remove a truthful negative review because an employer asked us to.

• ▸ Don't use candidate contact details for spam or for anything other than a genuine SkillBridge opportunity.
• ▸ Don't impersonate an employer, a counselor, a government official, or another person.
• ▸ Don't attempt to break, overload, or probe the security of the service.
• ▸ Don't upload malware or attempt to submit files — we accept no uploads by design.

Claiming a profile means you represent that you're authorized to act for that organization. Claimed employers are responsible for keeping their listing information accurate. Response rates and other activity metrics are computed from real behavior on the platform and are published whether or not they flatter you — that is the entire point of the trust layer, and by claiming a profile you accept it.

During the current soft launch only the free tier is available. Paid tiers are shown for planning purposes and cannot be purchased; nothing on this site charges you, and we collect no payment details.

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any information on it is accurate or complete.

Specifically and without limitation: we do not guarantee that you will find a SkillBridge program, be accepted into one, receive a response from any employer, be offered an interview, or receive a job offer.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Civic Hacking and its contributors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost opportunities, arising from your use of the service — including decisions you make based on listing data, metrics, or wage estimates shown here. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the past twelve months (for nearly everyone, zero) or one hundred U.S. dollars.

Some jurisdictions don't allow these limits, in which case they apply to the fullest extent permitted.

We link to skillbridge.mil, employer websites, and other outside resources. We don't control them and aren't responsible for their content, accuracy, or practices.

You can stop using the service at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or terminate access that violates these terms or that puts other users at risk.

We may update these terms; the “last updated” date will change and material updates will be announced on the site. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it.
