Quality InspectorPurpose of the role:MHIRJ’s network of service centers, support offices and parts depots are positioned in important aviation hubs in the U.S. The Quality Inspector performs inspections of aircraft, engines, parts, and components using precision tools, equipment, and other materials in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements and is responsible for ensuring all airworthiness quality requirements are performed and documented in accordance with all applicable regulations regarding maintenance, preventative maintenance, repair and alteration of aircraft, engine, and aircraft components/parts for which the Repair Station is rated.

Here are the daily responsibilities of a Quality Inspector:• Conduct weighing procedures in accordance with customers’ recommended practices and procedures.• Upon A/C arrival, obtain associated documentation, complete A/C records and document receipt to perform incoming inspections.• Coordinate inspection activities in compliance with computer tracking maintenance programs.• Upon receipt, perform inspection of all new, repaired, and rebuilt parts/components for evidence of physical damage, count, and conformity.• Ensure all work packages (orders and forms) as well as records of arrival, maintenance and corrective actions performed, are documented accurately and that all specialized customer (RED, RFE & SRPSA) and regulatory paperwork (FAA, FAR/CAA, etc.) is complete and required approvals have been obtained.• Research aircraft drawings and technical data (i.e., REO, EINO, EO, EA)• Perform walk around inspection of aircraft for release from maintenance.• Perform return to service process and ensure assigned aircraft meets all airworthiness requirements prior to return to service.• Provide data to customers as requested.• Train, coach and mentor technicians and other inspectors in the performance of duties in area(s) of qualification• Assist with research activities.• Perform conformity inspections.• Conduct Internal Procedural Audits• Perform research functions, including aircraft records research, aircraft configuration assessment and maintenance requirement determination based on research.Here is what is required to succeed:• 5 years of experience as an A&P Technician / Aircraft Maintenance Technician, ideally in a heavy maintenance environment.• Familiarity with aircraft inspections under FAR 145, 121, 135 or through the military, on military aircraft.• FAA-issued Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license or progress towards acquiring.• Have a working knowledge of special tooling and machinery used in detail inspection.• Have a working knowledge of aircraft part fabrication process.• Ability to calculate tolerances using specialty / calibrated measuring devices.• Ability to read and interpret engineering documents.• Ability to use and interpret a variety of precision measurement instruments and special tooling.• Must be able to pass hearing and vision tests.Work Environment:We put safety first and take pride in creating workspaces that invite collaboration and innovation.• Our Service Centers are world-class, and our technicians work in climate-controlled hangars that are clean, comfortable, and promote safety.• Openings are available at our Tucson, AZ facility• 12-hour shifts on a 3/4/4/3 schedule, which include days, nights, and weekends.

This SkillBridge program provides transitioning service members with hands-on training in a commercial aviation Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) environment. Participants work alongside experienced technicians while learning aviation maintenance procedures, safety practices, and regulatory compliance used in the civilian aviation industry.Phase 1 – Orientation & Safety (Weeks 1–2)• Hangar safety procedures and OSHA standards• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)• Foreign Object Debris (FOD) prevention• Tool control programs• Aircraft maintenance documentation systemsPhase 2 – Systems Familiarization (Weeks 3–6)• Aircraft systems overview• Aircraft inspection procedures• Maintenance manuals and technical documentation• Basic component removal and installationPhase 3 – Maintenance Operations (Weeks 7–16)• Scheduled aircraft inspections• Aircraft servicing procedures• Component removal and installation• Maintenance documentation and work cardsPhase 4 – Advanced Training & Workforce Integration (Weeks 17–24)• Aircraft system diagnostics• Maintenance workflow coordination• Quality and safety compliance• Exposure to supervisory or advanced technical responsibilitiesExpected OutcomesParticipants will develop operational leadership skills required for supervisory roles within commercial aviation maintenance operations. An FAA A&P license is required or the participant must be actively working toward obtaining one.
