Foundations of Health and Performance - Integrative Health Coach
Train, live, and learn alongside fellow veterans in UHP’s 19-day Integrative Health Coach (IHC) program. Our 800-acre campus in Northwest Arkansas brings together a 17,000-square-foot training facility, outdoor spaces, on-campus housing, and meals in a structured learning environment. Classroom instruction and practical coaching cover motivational interviewing, behavior change, active listening, goal setting, accountability, health and wellness foundations, and professional ethics. Instructor demonstrations, peer coaching, and direct feedback help participants develop the skills to support lasting changes in clients’ daily lives.Career preparation is built into the program to support your pursuit of a human performance career immediately after graduation.To schedule your admissions interview:1. Health and wellness coaches work with individuals and groups to support healthier habits and progress toward client-defined goals. Responsibilities include helping clients identify priorities, explore motivation, establish realistic action steps, navigate barriers, and maintain accountability. Active listening, effective questioning, confidentiality, and professional boundaries are central to the role. Coaching supports clients in making sustainable lifestyle changes within the coach’s professional scope.Employment settings include corporate wellness programs, wellness organizations, community health programs, digital health companies, and healthcare organizations.Awarded Upon Graduation:1. UHP Integrative Health Coach Certificate2. Completion of UHP’s National Board for Health & Wellness Coaching (NBHWC)-approved education program.National Board Certification Pathway: Successful completion satisfies the approved education component of the NBHWC certification pathway. Graduates pursuing the National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC) credential must also complete remaining qualifying coaching sessions (assisted by UHP post-graduation program), and pass the national board examination. National Board certification is awarded after all requirements are met.
1. Meet applicable military Service SkillBridge eligibility requirements and obtain required command approval before participation.2. Complete UHP’s admissions and enrollment requirements.3. Be available for the full 19-day, in-person cohort at UHP’s Northwest Arkansas campus.Prior professional coaching, wellness, or healthcare experience is not required.
The Soldier will reside on campus throughout the program and is responsible for providing their own transportation to campus on Day 1 and from campus on Day 19. Only these two trips are required, as on-campus housing eliminates the need for a daily commute.
