Certified Cybersecurity Engineer / eBusiness Strategy Analyst (Remote Intern)The Certified Cybersecurity Engineer / eBusiness Strategy Analyst Internship is a hybrid technical-business role designed for transitioning service members and veterans seeking real-world cybersecurity engineering experience, combined with exposure to business transformation, secure systems integration, and enterprise IT alignment. Interns will contribute to cybersecurity risk mitigation, cloud security best practices, compliance initiatives, and cyber-enabled digital innovation projects under the guidance of certified industry professionals.This remote internship is part of the United Youth of America (UYOA) Cybersecurity Apprenticeship Program, approved under the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), VA GI Bill, and DoD SkillBridge framework. Participants will receive hands-on experience aligned with leading industry frameworks and secure career pathways in the IT and cybersecurity field.
Certified Cybersecurity Engineer / eBusiness Strategy Analyst (Remote Intern)Primary ResponsibilitiesInterns will be immersed in multidisciplinary projects supporting both security engineering functions andbusiness technology strategy. Key duties include:- Cybersecurity Engineering & Infrastructure Hardening- Assist with the design and implementation of secure network and cloud-based systems.- Support zero-trust architecture models, multi-factor authentication, and least privilege policies.- Collaborate with DevSecOps and network teams.- Governance, Risk, & Compliance (GRC) and Documentation- Participate in internal audit preparation and policy reviews.- Contribute to the development of risk assessments and security plans.- Strategic Business-Cyber Alignment- Work with eBusiness teams to evaluate the security posture of digital platforms.- Perform risk-based analyses of digital transformation initiatives.- Data & Metrics Analysis- Track and analyze security incident metrics and vulnerability scan reports.- Assist in reporting Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Preferred Skills & Qualifications- Foundational knowledge in cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, or IT risk management.- Understanding of cybersecurity frameworks: NIST CSF, ISO/IEC 27001, FedRAMP.- Familiarity with networking, OS administration, and cloud platforms.- Analytical skills and business-IT alignment understanding.- Proficiency with Excel, Visio, or analytics tools is a plus.- U.S. citizenship or authorization to work under GI Bill or SkillBridge.
