Cybersecurity Specialist Apprenticeship: Skills and Qualifications● 2-5 years of practical work experience in cybersecurity, IT with a strong securityfocus, or a related technical field.● Working knowledge of relevant cybersecurity concepts, tools, and software (e.g.,firewalls, endpoint detection and response, SIEM, MFA).● Familiarity with common security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001) is a plus.● Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CompTIA CySA+, or equivalent arehighly desirable.● Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with an efficient approach totroubleshooting.● Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization abilities.● Effective communication skills, including clear speaking, concise writing, and activelistening.● Commitment to great customer service and strong interpersonal skills.● Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimum supervision.● High attention to detail and a focus on fact-based decision-making.● While direct cybersecurity professional experience is desired, strong technicalaptitude, relevant coursework, or security-focused projects are highly valued.● Must be able to collaborate effectively with individuals at all levels of an organization– we thrive in an open and collaborative environment and cherish people who bringtheir ideas and ambition every day.● Highly self-motivated and adaptable individuals are most successful in this role. As a Cybersecurity Specialist, you will play a crucial role in protecting our clients' and our owndigital assets. Your responsibilities will include:● Assisting in the implementation and enforcement of robust cybersecurity protocols andbest practices.● Monitoring security systems and alerts for suspicious activity or potential breaches.● Supporting incident response efforts, including investigation, containment, andrecovery.● Conducting vulnerability assessments and assisting with penetration testing initiatives.● Maintaining security certificates and ensuring company compliance with industrystandards and regulatory requirements.● Providing technical support and troubleshooting for security-related issues acrossvarious systems (e.g., network, endpoint, cloud).● Assisting with the installation, configuration, and update of security software andhardware.● Contributing to risk identification and management strategies as part of a collaborativeteam.● Delivering basic cybersecurity awareness training to internal staff and potentially clientteams.● Supporting the setup, maintenance, security, and administration of secure networkenvironments.● Participating in specialized cybersecurity projects, upgrades, and new technologyimplementations, including thorough documentation.● Performing routine maintenance of IT/technical equipment with a security-first mindset.● Additional cybersecurity and IT-related tasks as assigned.
