QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST TRAINING PROGRAM
Provide training and work experience in a mentorship environment to transitioningmilitary members interested in working in the occupational safety and health field.
• Responsible for ensuring occupational safety and health compliance for the command. • Conduct unplanned events/mishap investigations in an industrial ship repair environment and completes detailed associated report.• Ensures compliance with contractual requirements, NAVSEA Standard Items, SERMC Local Standard Items, SERMC and Navy Instructions, and OSHA laws and regulations.• Responsible for Occupational Safety and Health program management which includes writing procedures and instructions, creating and conducting training, self-assessments and surveillances.• Conducts workplace inspections, identify hazards, provide interim and permanent controls in accordance with Navy policy.• Organizes, schedules and facilitates Occupational Safety and Health meetings and committees.• Performs other related duties as assigned
