Technician
The SkillBridge Technician Training Program at Renew Truck provides transitioning service members with hands-on experience in the repair, remanufacturing, inspection, and testing of yard spotter trucks. Over 26 weeks, participants will develop technical knowledge in truck disassembly, component inspection, mechanical and electrical systems, diagnostics, reassembly, quality assurance, and production processes. Participants will also learn company work standards, documentation requirements, productivity expectations, and teamwork necessary for successful employment as a Technician at Renew Truck.
JOB DESCRIPTION Technician Level 1 Level II Level III Renew Truck is a spotter truck specialist who repairs and remanufactures yard trucks nationwide. POSITION GENERAL SUMMARY Primary responsibilities include: Level I (Entry-level) Disassembly and cleaning Assist Technicians II and III Level II Independently troubleshoot and perform basic repairs in driveline and electrical faults Independently repair / change replacement parts Skilled tool and diagnostic software usage Assist Technician III Level III Independently troubleshoot and perform basic repairs in driveline, electrical faults and A/C Independently complete entire job Skilled tool and diagnostic software mastery Final inspection and completion of final product The Technician reports directly to the Lead Technician. Customer Focused Provide assistance to teammates as needed Looks for opportunities to help in any areas that need help Other duties as assigned by Shop Foreman Troubleshoot accurately and provide feedback on expected repairs. Be clear and concise. Give feedback regularly to Shop Foreman. Keep you work order “stories” in iTrack up to date each time you clock off a job so the Service Manager can be ready with up to date information to give the customer on the repair or remanufacture status. Complete the repair process from start to finish accurately and under the estimated time, including inspections and service order updates. Be ready and willing to work overtime hours to get customers vehicles back to them quickly Win As A Team Help resolve any customer and vehicle issues with your manager. Contribute to your peers by providing expertise and skill suggestions and diagnosis. Build others up, contribute a positive attitude, and be a problem solver, not complainer every day in all you do. Other duties as assigned by direct supervisor. PERFORMANCE STANDARDS Maintain minimum 85% labor productivity REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS Level I: Basic mechanic skills Levels II and III: Required - Skilled tool use knowledge, diagnostic software proficiency, must have own tools; Preferred - 3+ years’ experience in general heavy-duty truck mechanics Exercises initiative in self-development, employee development and company growth Self-motivated; measures self against standards of excellence; takes calculated risks to accomplish goals Excellent planning and organizing skills Reliable Innovative Valid driver’s license • High school diploma or GED preferred • Physical Requirements • Sitting, standing, and walking including ascending and descending stairs • Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds • Communicating with others to exchange information
91B, 91C, 91D, 91L, 91X - 3521, 3522, 3529 - 2T3X1 - EN, CM - MK
Preferred Military Occupational Specialties (not required): Army 91B, 91C, 91D, 91L; Marine Corps 3521 and 3522; Air Force 2T3X1; Navy EN and CM; Coast Guard MK; or any military occupational specialty involving diesel engines, wheeled vehicle maintenance, heavy equipment, fleet maintenance, or mechanical systems.
