The Prince William County Police Department is comprised of over 700 sworn police officers that serve a citizen population over 465,000. Patrolling: Officers regularly patrol assigned areas to deter and detect criminal activity, ensuring community safety.Responding to Calls: They respond to emergency and non-emergency calls, providing assistance and support as needed.Investigating Crimes: Officers investigate crimes by collecting evidence, interviewing witnesses, and preparing reports for legal proceedings.Enforcing Laws: They enforce traffic laws, issue citations, and make arrests when necessary to uphold the law.Community Engagement: Officers often engage with the community to build trust, educate the public on safety measures, and participate in crime prevention initiatives.

- U.S. Citizen- 21 years old prior to graduating the academy- High school diploma or equivalent- Valid driver's license- No felony convictions or serious misdemeanors
Academy is full salary and full benefits upon entry with a $10,000 sign on bonus. Service members are allowed to collect their GI Bill while attending as well.
