A Calibration Technician (often titled Metrology or Instrumentation Technician) ensures the accuracy, reliability, and compliance of critical instruments and equipment used in the manufacture of pharmaceuticals, biotechnology products, and medical devices. This role supports product quality, regulatory compliance, and patient safety by performing calibration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and documentation activities in accordance with GMP, FDA, and industry standards. Calibration Technicians work in biopharmaceutical manufacturing facilities, vaccine production sites, and laboratory environments to maintain the precision and efficiency of manufacturing operations.
Calibration Technicians are responsible for improving equipment reliability, reducing downtime, and supporting manufacturing operations within a designated production area. Key responsibilities include performing preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting equipment issues, monitoring system performance, implementing reliability improvements, responding to operational events, and maintaining accurate maintenance documentation. The role also supports process operations through training, coaching, and effective use of SAP work order systems.Successful candidates are safety-focused, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working in a manufacturing environment. The position requires standing for extended periods, lifting up to 33 pounds, working around production equipment, and occasionally performing tasks at elevated heights, in confined spaces, or in varying environmental conditions. This role is critical to ensuring reliable operations, regulatory compliance, and uninterrupted production in life sciences manufacturing facilities.

Associate degree in a technical field, equivalent military training, or industrial training with a strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and control systems.Minimum of 3 years of relevant maintenance, calibration, instrumentation, electrical, or mechanical experience.Working knowledge of compressed air systems, electro-mechanical controls, electrical systems, instrumentation, robotics, and automated manufacturing equipment preferred.Experience using SAP, computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation preferred.Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, organization, and planning skills.Ability to support maintenance planning, equipment reliability initiatives, and continuous improvement activities.
