Information Technology & Cybersecurity
Information Technology & Cybersecurity training program provides participants with practical experience supporting and protecting IT systems, networks, applications, and information resources. Participants develop skills in system administration, technical troubleshooting, network and security monitoring, vulnerability identification, access control, system hardening, incident analysis, and cybersecurity best practices. Through supervised hands-on activities and progressively independent assignments, participants strengthen their technical problem-solving, documentation, security awareness, and IT/cybersecurity support skills in preparation for civilian careers in information technology and cybersecurity.
The Information Technology & Cybersecurity Specialist supports the operation, maintenance, and security of information technology systems, networks, hardware, software, and applications. Responsibilities may include troubleshooting technical issues, supporting system and account administration, monitoring networks and systems, reviewing security alerts and logs, identifying vulnerabilities and potential cyber threats, and assisting with incident analysis and response.The specialist applies approved security practices such as system hardening, patching, access control, configuration management, and vulnerability mitigation. The role may also support system improvements, security enhancements, automation, deployments, testing, and technical documentation. Work is performed in accordance with established security requirements, procedures, and escalation processes while collaborating with technical and cybersecurity personnel to maintain secure, reliable, and resilient IT environments.
