This immersive program provides in depth exposure to federal contracting operations, business development, contract management, personnel management, and executive leadership within a dynamic government contracting environment.
MicroHealth, LLC seeks senior military leaders for an Executive Leadership SkillBridge Fellowship that provides insight into federal contracting operations from an executive perspective. This unique opportunity is designed for transitioning senior officers who wish to understand how successful government contracting companies operate, compete, and deliver excellence to federal customers. Program Structure: Fellows will rotate through key functional areas including Human Resources, Contracts Management, Program Management, and Business Development, gaining hands-on experience in each discipline. Participants will join executive leadership discussions and strategic planning sessions to understand the complexities of operating in the federal marketplace. Core Learning Objectives: Contract Vehicle Mastery: Understand various contract types (IDIQ, BPA, GSA Schedules, etc.), their strategic implications, and how to effectively compete and perform within their scope and limitations Business Requirements Analysis: Participate in capture planning, proposal development, and business case analysis for new opportunities Government Customer Relations: Learn the appropriate boundaries, communication protocols, and partnership approaches with Contracting Officers, Contracting Officer Representatives (CORs), and program officials Negotiation Strategies: Observe contract negotiations, modification discussions, and dispute resolution processes Scope Management: Understand how to identify in-scope vs. out-of-scope work, manage scope creep, and protect both company and customer interests Financial Management: Learn about cost accounting standards, indirect rates, pricing strategies, and financial performance tracking Risk Management: Understand contractual risk, compliance risk, and operational risk mitigation strategies Key Activities: Shadow executive leadership in customer meetings, internal strategy sessions, and operational reviews Participate in Program Management Reviews (PMRs) and understand contractor performance assessment Attend business development pipeline reviews and capture strategy sessions Review and analyze contract documents, modifications, and performance work statements Engage with Contracts team on compliance, terms and conditions analysis, and contract interpretation Participate in HR strategic planning related to talent acquisition, retention, and workforce development for federal contracts Observe and contribute to proposal development processes and competitive strategy formulation Mentorship Component: Each fellow will be paired with a senior executive mentor and will have regular touchpoints with the CEO, COO, and functional directors to gain diverse perspectives on leadership in the federal contracting space.
Must be eligible for SkillBridge program per service regulations Must be able to commit to full 60-day fellowship duration Must pass background check and comply with MicroHealth security requirements Must be available for hybrid work arrangement (in-office and remote components)
