We are seeking a motivated Entry-Level HVAC Controls Technician to join our team. This role involves assisting in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) control systems. As an HVAC Controls Technician, you'll work under the guidance of experienced technicians to ensure the proper functioning of HVAC systems and controls in various environments. A background in or familiarity with electronics, electrical systems or HVAC is beneficial.
Month 1:- Attend Weekly Controls Meeting- Onboarding Paperwork- Familiarization with Project files and software tools- Understand HVAC contracting hierarchy for new construction- Review of basic controls principles and wiring- Perform wiring rough in and control device installationMonth 2:- Attend Weekly Controls Meeting- Continue to perform wiring rough in and control device installation to build competency- Review control concepts for various types of simple HVAC Systems- Attend ongoing inhouse technical training for HVAC mechanicsMonth 3:- Attend Weekly Controls Meeting- Continue to perform wiring rough in and control device installation to build competency- Review control concepts for various types of complex HVAC Systems- Attend ongoing inhouse technical training for HVAC mechanics- Work with the dedicated Control Service Team – troubleshooting and repairing existing controlsMonth 4:- Attend Weekly Controls Meeting- Continue working with controller and end device installation and troubleshooting- Attend ongoing MRG inhouse technical training for all HVAC mechanics- Work autonomously installing controllers and control componentsOutcome:- Have an understanding and installation of low voltage control and network wiring- Ability to work independently to rough-in and install control enclosures, unit end devices and unit controllers- Have a basic understanding of HVAC system operations
