Jaco Aerospace Inc. - Internship
The Procurement Specialist sources and quotes aerospace and aviation products for Jaco's existing customer base. You will work a high volume of RFQs through our proprietary platform, dealing directly with customers on one side and suppliers on the other.Day to day, that means sourcing products, negotiating with vendors on price and lead time, and entering and quoting RFQs (Request For Quotes) accurately. This position requires you to stay ahead of customers' timelines and apply pricing consistently across accounts. Customer satisfaction runs through you from quote to delivery.The RFQ on your screen is mission-critical, whether a program has a deadline or a line is down waiting on a part. Sourcing it correctly and getting it there on time keeps the warfighter equipped and mission-ready. The majority of service members participating in our SkillBridge program remain with us. We believe that veterans are among the most exceptional individuals to employ, and we prefer to substantiate this conviction with a formal job offer rather than merely a slogan - the majority of candidates who complete our program receive such an offer.
Software-driven sourcing, quoting, and customer records all live in our systems, and how much you get through depends on how well you use them. We are looking for someone who is tech-savvy, picks up new platforms quickly, and can multitask.Customer and RFQ management- Establish each customer's timeline early so RFQs are worked in order of actual urgency rather than order of arrival.- Manage a high volume of RFQs (Request For Quotes), responding accurately and quickly.- Provide firm pricing and delivery estimates through our quoting system.- Identify and move quickly on straightforward opportunities and follow up on open RFQs without prompting.-Oversee orders through fulfillment and communicate with customers directly by phone and email.Sourcing and Supplier Management- Source and quote aerospace, aviation, and space products through our proprietary platform.- Identify and qualify new suppliers to broaden what we can offer.- Maintain active contact with primary vendor contacts for sourcing and coordination.- Negotiate pricing, lead times, and quality requirements with new and existing suppliers.- Build durable relationships on both sides of the transaction - customers and suppliers. We supply OEM and aftermarket customers worldwide with chemicals, consumables, and the hard-to-find items that keep aircraft in service.
