Education Intern - Internship Program
We would like to assist transitioning veterans who wish to fill a role in education, specifically grades 7-12 (and a post-graduate program). Since we are a military boarding school, we have a wide variety of positions that transitioning veterans can work and intern with, gaining experience with our seasoned professionals. We have limited housing on Campus; availability is continually changing. Since we are a private school, teachers do not need to be certified, they only need an undergraduate degree. Applicants who do not have an undergraduate degree, but are interested in working in education can intern as a teaching or student life assistant.
As a military boarding school we have several departments from Cadet Life (Military Style Instruction), Academic (Classroom Instruction), Athletics (coach, sports media, etc.), Maintenance (ground, vehicle, facilities, etc.), Support Services, and Administrative Services.
Open to all MOS / ratings / AFSCs.
Applicants must consent to fingerprinting and a criminal history search of the State Police and FBI databases. Applicants are barred from employment if they have been convicted of a barrier crime within or outside Virginia, per VA Code 22.1-296.3(A). All applicants must also consent to a search of the Virginia Child Abuse and Neglect Central Registry for founded complaints of child abuse and neglect. Applicants are barred from employment if they are the subject of a founded complaint of child abuse and neglect within or outside Virginia, per VA Code 22.1-296.4(A).
There is limited housing on campus (offered at no charge), which is continually changing; housing availability is not guaranteed.
