Information Management Officer (IMO)In this position, you will perform substantive work dealing with the communication and dissemination of information regarding all types of intentional and/or unintentional crisis, maintaining oversight of emerging real-time events, and incidents with the potential to impact the NCR. You will provide coordination and assistance to partners to ensure their capability to continue essential functions during any event or incident through administering a common operating picture and creation and dissemination of other information products. Typical assignments include:• Facilitating accurate information gathering, clear channels of communication and collaboration among stakeholders.• Coordinating across Federal, State, local, tribal, territorial, non-governmental organizations, and private sector partners across multiple functions, disciplines and mission areas.• Performing technical writing functions, requiring substantial knowledge and writing and/or editing technical materials, including reports of research findings.• Accurately articulate and explain technical aspects of program(s) to those affected.FEMA National Capital Region Watch AnalystIn this position, you will serve as a Watch Analyst responsible for maintaining situational awareness at the FEMA ONCRC Watch, which is a 24/7 center supporting partners in the National Capital Region (NCR). You will perform special studies and analyses to assess the magnitude of an event or emerging incident to include the initial impact and the contribution of the initial, current, and prevailing conditions to the overall situation to prepare incident or situation reports. Typical assignments include:• Collecting and analyzing information from a variety of sources, information feeds, and contacts within the ONCRC.• Obtaining, analyzing, and processing information to determine what is relevant to the event/incident and the stakeholders receiving the information.• Developing ONCRC specific reports, summaries, and briefings for the ONCRC stakeholders.
Information Management Officer (IMO)Experience in meeting the qualification requirements may be obtained by the federal government, a state or local government, or private sector, and must demonstrate the following:• Conveying policy and concepts to technical and non-technical managers, project partners, and other parties to obtain cooperation of others; and• Utilizing a wide range of qualitative and quantitative analysis methods, concepts, and practices to solve problems and develop solutions for consideration; and• Using oral and written communication to prepare and present recommendations or solutions; and• Providing guidance to internal and external customers concerning initiatives.FEMA National Capital Region Watch AnalystExperience in meeting the qualification requirements may be obtained by the federal government, a state or local government, or private sector, and must demonstrate the following:• Maintaining regional situational awareness by monitoring emerging incidents or potential incidents with possible operational consequences; and• Communicating orally and in writing to facilitate the development of briefings, situation reports, displays; and• Working in automated systems, including various word processing and database programs such as Excel, Access, Power Point and Word to produce meaningful re-ports.
