POSITION SUMMARYThe NDT Inspector performs nondestructive testing on manufactured components to verify conformance with customer, industry, and DoD quality standards. Working under the guidance of the Responsible Level III, the Inspector applies one or more NDT methods — liquid penetrant (PT), magnetic particle (MT), ultrasonic (UT), and radiographic (RT) testing — to detect defects and confirm product integrity before parts are released for use. This role offers a structured path toward higher-level NDT certification and is well suited to candidates transitioning from military maintenance, quality, or technical inspection backgrounds.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES• Perform NDT inspections (PT, MT, UT, and/or RT) in accordance with written procedures and applicable customer and industry specifications (e.g., NAS410, SNT-TC-1A).• Interpret and document inspection results accurately, flagging nonconformances per established acceptance criteria.• Follow written NDT, chemical, and cleanliness procedures for each inspection method performed.• Maintain calibration of inspection equipment and support timely calibration activities.• Complete and maintain accurate, traceable inspection and production records for Quality Assurance processing.• Support audits and inspections performed by the Responsible Level III and regulatory bodies as needed.• Participate in training toward certification and recertification in additional NDT methods and levels.• Communicate inspection findings clearly to production, quality, and engineering personnel.KNOWLEDGE / EDUCATION• High school diploma or GED required; technical training or an associate/bachelor's degree in a technical field is a plus.• NDT certification (or active pursuit of certification) in at least one method — PT, MT, UT, or RT — under SNT-TC-1A or equivalent standard.• Prior military NDT, quality inspection, maintenance, or avionics/technical experience is highly valued.EXPERIENCE / SKILLS• Experience performing technical inspections, quality checks, or maintenance tasks in a structured, standards-driven environment.• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise written procedures.• Clear verbal and written communication skills, including accurate documentation.• Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with hands-on inspection equipment.WORKING RELATIONSHIPS• Works closely with the Responsible Level III, fellow NDT inspectors, production personnel, and Quality Assurance staff.• Maintains a professional, team-oriented approach consistent with a safety- and standards-driven workplace.Prepared for SkillBridge placement by Veteran Workforce Solutions
