Program summary

This SkillBridge training opportunity prepares transitioning Service Members for a civilian role as a Business Growth Advisor. Participants receive structured, supervised training in leadership development, financial and operational analysis, consulting fundamentals, and client engagement support. Training is conducted in person through instruction, mentoring, and supervised on-the-job learning led by Axiom Strategic’s owner and senior advisors, with training taking place at Axiom Strategic offices and on-site with client organizations as applicable. This program is designed to build transferable advisory skills applicable across multiple industries.

Roles & job description

The Business Growth Advisor role at Axiom Strategic provides real-world consulting experience by supporting client organizations in improving operations, leadership effectiveness, financial clarity, culture health, and overall business performance. SkillBridge participants will assist with organizational assessments, KPI and financial reviews, strategic planning preparation, leadership development initiatives, operational improvement analysis, and client deliverable creation. Activities include shadowing advisor meetings, conducting research, preparing reports and presentations, building dashboards, documenting insights, and contributing to internal projects. This role is ideal for Service Members interested in consulting, leadership, business operations, strategy, coaching, or organizational development. Successful participants may be considered for full-time employment as a Business Growth Advisor after program completion.

Eligibility notes

Must have prior experience in leadership, team management, coaching, customer service, or sales. Foundational understanding of business operations and basic financial concepts (such as revenue, expenses, margins, or KPIs) required. Preference given to candidates with experience in planning, analysis, or training roles. Strong communication, professionalism, and initiative expected. Interview required for final selection.

Additional notes

Ideal candidates have a foundational understanding of business operations, leadership, or analytical roles. Prior exposure to financial concepts such as profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and basic cash flow principles is beneficial, as is familiarity with sales, coaching, or advisory responsibilities. Strong communication skills, professionalism, reliability, and a willingness to learn are required. While many skills are taught during the program, participants should have an interest in business strategy, operational performance, and financial analysis as part of leadership and advisory development.This SkillBridge opportunity is unpaid and intended solely for training and professional development. Participants remain on active duty and continue receiving military pay and benefits. Axiom Strategic provides all training, mentorship, and required resources at no cost. Candidates must complete an interview prior to acceptance. Training is conducted primarily in person, including classroom instruction, mentoring, and supervised on-the-job learning, with activities taking place at Axiom Strategic offices and on-site with client organizations as applicable. Training hours and schedules may be adjusted to meet command requirements.
