Advantage Consulting and Solutions (ACAS) is seeking a highly organized and motivated transitioning Service Member to serve as a Program Coordinator supporting the Alabama Cybersecurity Fellowship Program (ACFP), an innovative workforce development initiative that prepares college students for careers in cybersecurity and information technology through classroom instruction, hands-on technical training, and employer-sponsored internships.The Program Coordinator will assist in the daily administration, coordination, and execution of the Fellowship Program while serving as the central point of contact between ACAS leadership, instructors, participating colleges and universities, employer partners, students, funding organizations, and community stakeholders.This position provides hands-on experience managing a statewide workforce development program while developing skills in program management, operations, communications, recruiting, budgeting, stakeholder engagement, and leadership.
The Program Coordinator supports all operational aspects of the Alabama Cybersecurity Fellowship Program and assists leadership in ensuring successful delivery of each student cohort.Primary responsibilities include:Program Administration• Coordinate daily operations of the Fellowship Program.• Maintain the annual program calendar and milestone schedule.• Track program deliverables, deadlines, and reporting requirements.• Maintain student, employer, instructor, and partner records.• Prepare program reports, dashboards, and executive briefings.• Assist with grant compliance and required documentation.Instructor Management• Coordinate schedules for instructors and guest speakers.• Assist with instructor onboarding and orientation.• Track instructional hours and classroom delivery.• Ensure curriculum materials are available and current.• Schedule substitute instructors when necessary.• Coordinate instructor meetings and planning sessions.• Support instructor evaluations and feedback collection.College & University Relationships• Serve as liaison with participating colleges and universities.• Coordinate with career services, faculty, and administrators.• Schedule campus visits and information sessions.• Maintain relationships with academic partners.• Coordinate student referrals from participating schools.• Support expansion to new educational institutions.Employer Partner Management• Coordinate employer participation and internship opportunities.• Maintain relationships with public and private sector employers.• Schedule employer meetings and workforce planning discussions.• Match students with internship opportunities.• Track internship performance and employer feedback.• Coordinate hiring events and networking opportunities.• Develop new employer partnerships throughout Alabama.Student Recruitment & Outreach• Coordinate recruitment campaigns.• Conduct information sessions.• Attend career fairs and outreach events.• Develop recruitment materials and presentations.• Promote the Fellowship Program through community engagement.• Coordinate outreach with veterans’ organizations, colleges, and workforce agencies.• Support social media and marketing efforts.Application Processing• Receive and review student applications.• Verify eligibility requirements.• Maintain applicant database.• Coordinate applicant communications.• Schedule interviews.• Track application status.• Maintain confidential applicant records.Candidate Screening & Interviews• Conduct initial screening interviews.• Evaluate applicant qualifications.• Coordinate technical interviews with instructors.• Prepare interview summaries and recommendations.• Participate in final candidate selection.• Notify selected and non-selected applicants.Cohort Selection & Management• Coordinate final student selection.• Manage student onboarding.• Conduct orientation sessions.• Monitor student attendance and participation.• Track academic progress and certification milestones.• Coordinate student mentoring activities.• Support student success and retention.Financial & Stipend Administration• Coordinate student stipend documentation.• Verify attendance and eligibility for stipend payments.• Assist with distribution of approved fellowship funds.• Track expenditures and maintain financial records.• Support grant budget reporting.• Coordinate with accounting staff regarding payments and reimbursements.• Ensure compliance with funding requirements.Program Operations• Coordinate training facilities and classroom logistics.• Schedule meetings and events.• Manage inventories of classroom equipment and supplies.• Coordinate travel arrangements when required.• Maintain program documentation and operating procedures.• Support continuous improvement initiatives.Stakeholder Engagement• Serve as a primary point of contact for students, instructors, employer partners, educational institutions, and community organizations.• Prepare newsletters and program communications.• Coordinate advisory committee meetings.• Support community engagement and workforce development initiatives.

Preferred qualifications include:• Strong organizational and time management skills.• Excellent written and verbal communication.• Experience coordinating multiple priorities.• Professional customer service skills.• Ability to work with diverse stakeholders.• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.• Self-motivated with strong attention to detail.Preferred certifications (not required):• CAPM• PMP• ITIL Foundation• Microsoft Office Specialist• Security+• Certified Associate in Project Management• Scrum Fundamentals
This SkillBridge opportunity provides hands-on experience managing a statewide cybersecurity workforce development program from recruitment through employment placement. Participants will develop expertise in program administration, instructor management, employer engagement, student success, grant compliance, and operational leadership while supporting one of Alabama’s premier cybersecurity workforce initiatives.Successful completion prepares participants for leadership roles in workforce development, higher education administration, technical training, nonprofit management, government contracting, corporate learning, and program operations.
