Advantage Consulting and Solutions LLC is offering a DoW SkillBridge opportunity for transitioning service members interested in IT project management, AgTech, smart agriculture, cybersecurity, and emerging technology integration. The participant will support ACAS’s Riley Creek Farms AgTech project, a smart agriculture initiative focused on hydroponics, sensor technology, data collection, automation, seed-to-table traceability, and community-based agricultural innovation.This position is designed for service members seeking hands-on experience in IT project coordination, stakeholder engagement, technical documentation, schedule management, requirements tracking, vendor coordination, risk management, and technology implementation within a real-world agricultural technology pilot program.

Roles & job description

The IT Project Management SkillBridge participant will assist ACAS leadership and project stakeholders with planning, coordinating, documenting, and tracking activities for the Riley Creek Farms AgTech project. Duties may include:• Supporting project planning, milestones, schedules, task tracking, and meeting coordination.• Assisting with requirements gathering for smart agriculture technologies, sensors, hydroponic systems, RFID/traceability tools, dashboards, and data platforms.• Coordinating with internal teams, Tuskegee University stakeholders, farm personnel, vendors, and community partners.• Preparing project documentation, status reports, risk logs, action item trackers, meeting minutes, and implementation plans.• Supporting technology rollout planning for IoT sensors, environmental monitoring, data collection, and farm operations workflows.• Assisting with cybersecurity and data protection considerations for connected agriculture systems.• Helping develop repeatable processes and templates for future AgTech pilot expansion.• Supporting workforce development, training, and community engagement activities related to the project.The participant will gain experience in IT project management, technical coordination, AgTech systems, stakeholder communication, project documentation, risk management, and emerging technology implementation.

Eligibility notes

Preferred qualifications include:• Transitioning service member approved by command to participate in SkillBridge.• Interest in IT project management, cybersecurity, AgTech, agriculture technology, IoT, data systems, or emerging technology.• Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills.• Ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.• Basic familiarity with Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, and project tracking tools.• PMP, CAPM, Security+, Network+, Project+, Scrum, ITIL, or related certifications are helpful but not required.• Must be professional, dependable, and able to support a mission-focused pilot project.

Additional notes

This SkillBridge position is unpaid and provided at no direct cost to the service member. Participation must be approved by the service member’s command in accordance with DoW SkillBridge requirements. The opportunity is intended to provide practical civilian-sector experience in IT project management, AgTech implementation, stakeholder coordination, and technology modernization.
