Program summary

Work with an established food truck operation to gain experience and learn the skills to start your own food truck!

Roles & job description

This program will prepare you for managing and owning your own Food Truck. The training will take place in 3 phases: Phase 1 Shadowing- You will apprentice with the current food manager (or other local food truck manager) and operator while learning menu development, ingredient management, marketing, and customer service. This phase lasts 4-8 weeks. Phase 2 Operating- You will be put in charge of running and operating the food truck incubator. This will allow you to test your menu, branding, marketing and customer service skills. This phase lasts 4-8 weeks. Phase 3 Mentoring- You will be asked to aid the next operators by providing your lessons learned, helping them develop recipes and menu items, and helping them operate their business model during their operating phase.

Target military occupations

Open to all MOS / ratings / AFSCs.

Eligibility notes

Must submit a 1 page essay/ letter about why your want to run/own a food truck. Once your initial interview is completed you will be asked to complete a sample menu with source ingredients and pricing.
