Precision ag specialists provide support and technical assistance to growers who use precision technologies on their farming operations. As a precision ag specialist, knowledge of products and services is the base required to perform service and sales of products that the company offers. In addition, understanding of sales techniques is vital to the sales process. A precision ag specialist, once knowledgeable about products, services, and sales, also needs skills in marketing and data management in order to excel in the field and provide exceptional service to customers. A precision ag specialist needs a background knowledge of farming practices in order to plan for sales and services appropriately. They also need a background knowledge of farming equipment as they will complete installs/uninstalls of products.A precision ag specialist must be able to manage time effectively, be self-motivated, and build and maintain positive working relationships with growers and team members. They need to be customer focused and advocate for the customer’s needs. Within the company, a precision ag specialist must clearly communicate with all team members. They are action-oriented people with a results focus. A precision ag specialist is a vital role to the company and the agriculture community needs.
