SkillBridge Internship – Network Administration Full-Time | Remote/Hybrid Join VSO's SkillBridge program and build your civilian career in network administration and security with hands-on mentorship and real-world IT experience. Over six months, you'll progress from guided training to independently managing network operations—including monitoring, troubleshooting, VPN configurations, and cloud integrations—while earning up to two industry certifications at no cost to you. Choose from CompTIA Security+, CCNA, or AZ-900 to validate your skills and set yourself up for long-term career success in network infrastructure and cybersecurity. Network Administrator SkillBridge Intern – Job Duties Network Operations & Administration Monitor network performance, availability, and security across VSO's infrastructure Configure and maintain IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, and routing protocols. Perform network setup, configuration, and routine maintenance tasks. Manage and troubleshoot connectivity issues, escalating as needed during supervised phases. Network Security, Implement and monitor security protocols including firewalls, VPNs, and encryption. Support threat detection and incident response activities. Assist in maintaining compliance with network security policies and procedures. Contribute to disaster recovery planning and execution. Incident Management, Own and manage network incidents from identification through resolution. Lead post-incident reviews and document findings to improve future response. Provide VIP-level support for escalated network issues. Maintain accurate records of incidents, resolutions, and network changes. Cloud & Infrastructure Integration, Support integration of cloud services (Azure) with on-premises network environments. Participate in network expansion projects and cloud migration initiatives. Collaborate with cross-functional technical teams to ensure infrastructure alignment. Project Support & Continuous Improvement. Contribute to IT project planning, implementation, and documentation. Analyze network performance metrics and propose operational improvements. Manage vendor and customer interfaces related to network resources and inventory
Full time positions that would be offered after successful completion of the skillbridge internship would be FT, on-site and located in Lorton, VA.
