Step Into Tech Program - Internship
The Step Into Tech Program is a 90-day, online SkillBridge training opportunity for transitioning service members with 0-2 years of technology experience. Participants receive structured instruction and hands-on practice in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React.js, MySQL, GitHub, software development tools, debugging, and project development. The program also includes portfolio development, interview preparation, and career-readiness support to help participants pursue entry-level software and web development opportunities. Live evening pre-training is available for participants who need foundational coding preparation.
We are seeking motivated and curious transitioning service members who want to build foundational skills for entry-level software and web development careers. Participants will receive structured, hands-on training in both front-end and back-end development while completing practical projects that can be included in a professional portfolio.Participants will learn to build and troubleshoot web applications using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React.js, and relational databases such as MySQL. Training will also cover APIs, Git and GitHub, software development workflows, debugging, documentation, project collaboration, and professional communication.Participants will take part in live instruction, project-based learning, technical feedback, career preparation, and independent practice. The program is designed to prepare participants for roles such as Junior Software Developer, Web Developer, Front-End Developer, Full-Stack Developer, Application Developer, Software Engineer I, and QA Tester.No professional technology experience is required. Academic projects, personal projects, internships, and introductory coding experience are acceptable. Participants should demonstrate curiosity, dependability, problem-solving ability, effective communication, and a willingness to learn and apply feedback.
Open to all MOS / ratings / AFSCs.
Open to participants with 0-2 years of relevant experience. Those without prior coding experience may complete live, cohort-based pre-apprenticeship training held during evening hours. Participants must not be deployed or performing field duties during the training period.
