Assistant Construction Manager - Job Training Program
The Vestas Assistant Construction Manager Core Training program provides an education on the rapidly growing wind industry. Participants will learn wind turbine operation and maintenance, safety, wind park construction operation, finance, budgeting, and customer relations. The curriculum will consist of 3 weeks of formal classroom safety training + 4 weeks of formal manager core training in Portland, OR. combined with OJT on an operating wind park.
Responsible for the overall leadership, management, and success of the personnel, equipment and subcontractors required to install wind turbine generator facilities. The Construction Manager will successfully meet and exceed key objectives & performance in the areas of safety & behavior, execution excellence, team alignment/engagement/motivation, customer loyalty, and financial performance. They will Maintain a highly effective team that is focused on continuous improvement and achieving high-level results. Success is measured against Key Performance Indicators, organizational objectives/initiatives, team motivation/performance, and meeting customer commitments.
Operations/Project Manager
Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time. Visual acuity including depth perception, field of vision and the ability to distinguish between colors. Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl as needed, as well as hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity. Ability to climb stairs & vertical ladders to heights of 60 to 100 meters and at times supervise work in confined space environments. Ability to lift, push, pull, carry items up to, but not more than 50 lbs. in weight. Ability to observe training and obtain certification in required safety programs that include LOTO, Electrical, Fall Arrest & High Angle Emergency Decent, and Confined Space. Ability to successfully participate in all training courses, including controlled decent practical exercises. Due to safety parameters of fall protection equipment, the total weight of required PPE and gear shall weigh 300 lbs or less while being worn. Required PPE and gear can weigh up to 40 lbs. Clean driving record and valid drivers license.
Initial formal training is conducted in Portland, OR. OJT is conducted on one of the sites in the US.
