Statistician -- Bachelor’s degree with at least 15 semester hours in statistics (or combined math/statistics with ≥6 hours in statistics), plus 9 additional semester hours in related sciences or social sciences. Alternatively, equivalent education/experience meets this standard. Design and improve sampling methodologies and ensure quality of data for RMA reporting.
Apply professional statistical techniques (e.g., regression, ANOVA, clustering) to large-scale RMA datasets, evaluating crop and livestock insurance loss patterns, premium/payout trends, and coverage effectiveness. Produces comprehensive technical reports, interpretive memos, and briefings to inform leadership on program performance, risk trends, and policy impacts. Translates complex statistical findings into clear guidance for internal and external stakeholders. Works closely with economists, actuaries, product managers, compliance staff, and field offices to jointly develop statistically robust insights for product design, underwriting standards, and program evaluation.
