Toyota Motor Manufacturing Missouri is offering transitioning service members the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in industrial equipment maintenance through our DoW SkillBridge Skilled Equipment Maintenance Technician Trainee Program. This 4–6-month program provides immersive, on-the-job training with the world’s leading automotive manufacturing company, preparing you up for a seamless transition into a high-demand civilian career. Skilled Maintenance Technicians support the production, quality, cost, and safety goals of the manufacturing operation and plant facilities. All skilled personnel are responsible for preventive maintenance, process and equipment improvements, and effective troubleshooting. These responsibilities include but not limited to test and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment or systems involving circuits, relay logic, wiring, motors, servo drives, etc.; fabricate and machine components to repair jigs, fixtures, and parts (metal, plastic, and wood) for projects, equipment repair, maintenance work orders, and machine modifications; write, program, troubleshoot, modify, and/or repair programmable logic controllers, CNC machines, robotics, and other electronic equipment; troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical equipment and machine components; perform basic administrative skills including documentation of work performed by written/electronic methods; ability to problem solve and continuously improve safety, quality, and productivity; perform preventive maintenance on conveyors, motors, pumps, valves, and hydraulic systems; conduct vibration analysis and thermal imaging to predict equipment failures; work with lubrication systems to maintain production equipment; diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems; troubleshoot three-phase motors, motor controls, and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs); gain hands-on experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs); assist in diagnosing automation robotic system issues; perform welding and fabrication for minor equipment repairs and modifications; enter maintenance data and track equipment history in Maximo or another CMMS software; support installation, set up, and commissioning of new manufacturing equipment; work on projects involving robotic automation and advanced processing technology; participate in Lean Manufacturing, Toyota Production System, and Continuous Process Improvement (Kaizen) initiatives to enhance equipment efficiency; follow OSHA safety standards; Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, and molten aluminum safety protocols; learn arc flash safety and work in high-voltage environments safely and effectively.

Must have active driver's license and a clean driving record. Background check and drug screen are required.

Skillbridge participants would be limited to 40-hour work weeks. May be required to work a night shift once hired full time.
