Media Advisory Experts SkillBridge Program
The Communications Specialist will support the company's public relations, strategic and crisis communications, media training and video production efforts during the length of their SkillBridge term, either in-person or virtual, as client needs dictate.
The Communications Specialist will be expected to support the company's public relations, strategic and crisis communications, media training and video production efforts. During the SkillBridge training, the Communications Specialist will learn foundational concepts of the media, public relations, and coaching communications spaces. This position is primarily virtual but there are opportunities for in-person learning and duties.If in-person duties are required, this individual will be expected to assist with in-person training events, bootcamps and workshops. These take place in a TV studio, podcast studio, pop-up photography studio for clients, and classroom space. In-person hours may vary, and may include evenings and weekends, depending on clients' schedules and the timing of the bootcamps and workshops.Training will be led by founder and CEO Mark Albert, former investigative journalist with 25 years of on-air television news experience, including at CBS News and leading a national investigative unit at Hearst. Additional training will be provided by John Bates, the 'TED Talk Coach to the Stars' himself who has trained Fortune 500 leaders and active NASA astronauts; Tamika Cody, director of our Catalyst PR+ program who has 20 years of past journalism experience. Other team members will assist, as needed, including a former producer for the CBS Evening News.Participants will be required to learn the communications methods and processes used to coach our clients; the principles, strategies, and tactics of modern public relations and communications; and the implementation of earned media and focused communications campaigns, such as the earned media effort Media Advisory Experts led for the U.S. Marine Corps' 250th Birthday 'Marine Week' events around the country, as our team secured 1.2 billion media impressions for the Marines250 campaign.
The ideal individual for this SkillBridge role has a knowledge of project management and collaborative communications, with a length of service in various MOCs commensurate to that of the approximate tenure of our team members.
Media Advisory Experts is remote-work company, with select client work in person. Therefore, this position is hybrid, both virtual and some in-person tasks, as needed.
