Information Technology (Desktop Support Intern)
This program is designed for transitioning service members interested in information technology and aims to provide hands-on experience in desktop and network support.
The Desktop Support Intern position, offered through the 90-to-180-day SkillBridge Program, is designed to provide transitioning service members with comprehensive, hands-on experience in information technology. The primary goal of the internship is to equip participants with a strong foundation to successfully transition into civilian IT careers.Throughout the program, interns will gain practical experience across all layers of desktop and network support. Key technical responsibilities include diagnosing, repairing, and upgrading laptops and other peripherals, as well as troubleshooting software, resolving operating system issues, and assisting with new software installations and patching. Additionally, participants will help resolve basic network connectivity issues and learn to manage user access controls and fundamental security protocols.Beyond technical troubleshooting, interns will actively participate in daily help desk operations by managing service incidents, documenting technical solutions, and providing training to end-users. To further ensure a smooth transition into the civilian workforce, the program also includes dedicated career development support, offering guidance on updating resumes and preparing for post-service job applications.
