As a Facilities & Infrastructure Engineering Intern you will be placed in real working environments alongside seasoned professionals in HVAC operations, electrical and mechanical engineering design, technical service management, and hospital energy plant operations.Available Tracks:Tracks are based on military backgrounds, education, and career goals.• Track 1 – HVAC TechnicianLocation: Midland, TX | Work Model: OnsiteMaintain, monitor, and repair central plant equipment at hospital and clinical facilities. Learn Energy Management Systems, preventative maintenance procedures, and building automation alongside experienced Stationary Engineers.• Track 2 – Electrical Engineer PELocation: Vestavia Hills, AL | Work Model: OnsiteSupport licensed electrical engineers in design solutions, technical studies, and blueprint development using REVIT. Gain exposure to the Engineer of Record (EOR) role and multi-project coordination. PE license or active pursuit required.• Track 3 – Mechanical Engineer PELocation: St. Louis, MO | Work Model: OnsiteApply engineering techniques to mechanical design, analysis, and project coordination. Assist with field visits, compliance documentation, and client communication under the guidance of PE-licensed engineers. PE license or active pursuit required.• Track 4 – Service ManagerLocation: Nashville, TN | Work Model: OnsiteShadow and support a Service Manager overseeing field labor, budgets, dispatch, subcontractors, and safety compliance. Ideal for transitioning NCOs, Warrant Officers, and junior Officers with operations or logistics leadership experience.• Track 5 – Asset Manager, Hospital SettingLocation: Hartford, CT | Work Model: OnsiteWork within a hospital campus Central Energy Plant managing energy strategy, O&M operations, subcontractor coordination, and operator training. Mechanical engineering degree preferred; FE certification a plus.Responsibilities Across All Tracks:• Collaborate with supervisors and team leads to understand operational needs and execute assigned duties within your track.• Maintain accurate records of activities, progress milestones, and documentation in applicable tracking systems.• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and security protocols at all times.• Develop professional skills and build a network of industry contacts to support current and future career objectives.Requirements:• Currently serving in the U.S. military and eligible for the DOW SkillBridge Program. • Is within 3 to 12 months of separation or retirement. • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with team members, clients, and leadership.• Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).• Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times.• Track-specific education, licensure, and experience requirements vary — see individual track details.What All Tracks Include:• Hands-on experience in a professional civilian work environment.• Direct mentorship from experienced industry professionals.• Resume-building project work and documented performance milestones.
