The Assistant General Manager SkillBridge Internship at Synergy Float Center in the Washington D.C. Metro area is an immersive leadership development program designed for transitioning service members interested in careers in holistic wellness, health, and human performance. The program provides hands-on training in business operations, leadership, and client experience within a mission-driven wellness organization. Participants are prepared to either manage a holistic wellness center or launch and operate their own wellness business. This is not a traditional internship, but a leadership development pipeline designed to cultivate future wellness entrepreneurs and managers. Upon completion, participants will possess the practical skills and operational experience necessary to manage a wellness facility or successfully start their own.
The Assistant General Manager will work closely with the Owner and General Manager to learn all aspects of operating a holistic wellness business. Through rotational exposure to operational, strategic, and leadership responsibilities, participants will develop a comprehensive understanding of the wellness industry. Interns will gain hands-on experience in business operations, client services, marketing strategy, financial management, and team leadership. They will also help support Synergy Float Center’s mission of improving community well-being by reducing stress, enhancing recovery, and promoting mental, physical, and emotional wellness through transformative client experiences and community partnerships.

Successful candidates should have a genuine interest in holistic wellness, human performance, and personal development, along with a desire to learn the operational and leadership aspects of running a wellness business.
Participants will gain hands-on entrepreneurial experience while contributing to a veteran-owned organization dedicated to improving community well-being through stress reduction, recovery, and holistic health practices. The program emphasizes leadership development, emotional intelligence, and meaningful operational responsibility. As part of the experience, participants will also receive complimentary access to Synergy Float Center’s wellness modalities, allowing them to personally experience the services and better support clients on their wellness journeys.
