Installation, Maintenance, and Repair Workers

This is a full-time SkillBridge opportunity of approximately 40 hours per week as an Assembly/Repair Technician for hybrid SCBA systems, exothermic torch systems, high pressure breathing air compressors, and other ancillary equipment.

The Assembly/Repair Technician is responsible for the assembly/repair of different components or parts into finished hybrid SCBA systems according to specifications, work instructions, and prints/drawings. All SCBA work must be performed under the company’s approved procedures, qualified supervision, applicable manufacturer instructions, and current regulatory/consensus requirements. The participant should not independently approve, repair, test, or return life-safety equipment to service until formally authorized. Standard Weekly Schedule: A typical week can be organized as: 4 hours: Classroom, standards, product, and safety instruction; 28–30 hours: Hands-on work and job shadowing; 4–6 hours: Documentation, cross-training, project work, and review; 1 hour: Weekly mentor check-in and development discussion

Preferred candidates include veterans with experience in aircrew flight equipment, aviation survival equipment, chemical or protective equipment repair, hydraulic or pneumatic systems, safety equipment, life-support equipment, aircraft environmental systems, electronics testing, precision measurement, machining, quality assurance, or military supply operations. Relevant backgrounds may include Air Force 1P0X1; Navy AD, AE, AT, AM AME, AS, ET, MR, or PR; Marine Corps 6048, 6062, or 2161; Army 91J, 91E, or 94H; Coast Guard AST, AMT, MK, DC, or AET; and related technical specialties from the Space Force or sister services.

Other eligibility factors should include mechanical aptitude; experience with safety-critical, life-support, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, or pressure systems; ability to read technical documents and accurately complete quality records; proficiency with hand tools, torque tools, gauges, and test equipment; strong attention to detail; willingness to follow procedures, use PPE, stop work, and report defects; ability to meet job-related physical and environmental requirements; eligibility for any required background checks, facility access, drug screening, or travel; and compliance with cylinder-testing, manufacturer-authorization, and company-qualification requirements. Candidates should not necessarily need prior SCBA certification, since product-specific training/qualifications can be provided during onboarding or SkillBridge, but they should demonstrate reliability, sound judgment, technical curiosity, honest documentation practices, and the ability to work safely with regulated, serialized, life-safety equipment.
