Program summary

Security Central's Security & Fire Alarm Technician internship provides military personnel an introduction to the electronic security/safety industry and provides preliminary training for a smooth transition into a career as security and fire alarm technician. The internship allows participants to experience firsthand the impact that alarm technicians make by providing safety and security to homes and businesses. Participants will receive preliminary training in system design, installation, maintenance, and repair of intrusion alarms, fire alarms, video surveillance systems, and electronic entry/access systems. After successful completion of the internship program, participants will be prepared to transition to a full-time alarm technician apprentice role to continue their training and work toward industry certifications and career advancement.

Successful completion of the internship program is a great first step toward rewarding career opportunities as a security/fire alarm technician, systems designer, project manager, and/or salesperson. All of the above roles impact lives by enhancing the safety, security, and peace of mind of clients.

Open to all MOS / ratings / AFSCs.

Eligibility notes

Experience working with electronics, IT networks, and/or physical security is helpful but not madatory.
