Program summary

The Client Support Technician SkillBridge Internship prepares transitioning services members for careers in Educational Technology or the entry-level general computer jobs. The internship setting is at an alternative high school serving at-risk youth. Interns will gain experience in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and fixing general computer issues, and customer service. The structured training includes hands-on learning through modeling and written/hands-on assessments that evaluate technical knowledge and skills and professionalism and customer service. This will program will prepare service members seeking CompTIA A+.

Roles & job description

The Client Support Technician provides basic technical assistance to students, teachers, and staff. This entry-level role is responsible for troubleshooting common computer issues, setting up equipment, and supporting the school's technology needs. Tasks include helping users with login problems, installing software, maintaining classroom devices, and assisting with hardware such as printers, laptops, and tablets. The technician works under the supervision of the school's IT staff and develops foundational skills in customer service, technology support, and problem-solving.
