Program summary

The SkillBridge intern will train as a Mechanical Engineer within Resonant Sciences (RS), reporting to a designated Resonant Sciences supervisor, with the primary goal of exposing the intern to industry. A secondary goal is to achieve a cross-organizational understanding of how industry works. The intern will be assigned special projects as needed.

Roles & job description

This may include ply splicing, drape analysis, flattening, nesting, contoured-surface laser projection.• Where possible, the intern will learn and understand basic principles of composite testing/analysis, to include laminate tailoring (quasi-iso, balanced laminates, etc) material system flight qualification test plans, Finite Element Modeling, etc.• The intern will have exposure to world-class mentors and will experience many disciplines of engineering. This experience will provide the intern with the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed as an engineer in the civilian career path.• RS will benefit from the military and experiential background of the SkillBridge intern and considers the SkillBridge internship an overall positive experience.Resonant Sciences3975 Research Blvd, Dayton Ohio 45430Assumptions/RestrictionsSkillBridge interns are not authorized to represent RS to DoD or Government customerswhile participating in the DoD SkillBridge Program Internship. Interview prep for this program
Ask them
  • ▸ "How many of your past SkillBridge interns received full-time offers?" — a serious program knows the number.
  • ▸ "Who will my day-to-day mentor be, and what does week one look like?"
  • ▸ "The listing says 91 - 120 days — can that flex to my approved window if my command shortens it?"
  • ▸ "Is relocation expected for a full-time offer, or can I convert where I am?"
Bring to the conversation
  • ✓ Your projected start window and separation date (from your profile)
  • ✓ Your command's approval status — even "packet drafted" signals you're serious
  • ✓ Your civilian-translated resume bullets (generate them here)
  • ✓ A written training-plan ask — you'll need it for your packet anyway
