DevSecOps Engineer - On-the-Job Training
The 16-week SkillBridge on-the-job training program provides transitioning service members with hands-on training in DevSecOps engineering. Participants will develop practical experience with Linux, containerization, Kubernetes, Rancher, infrastructure as code, automation, CI/CD, security hardening, monitoring, and zero-trust principles. The program provides structured technical instruction, hands-on training, mentorship, and a capstone project designed to prepare participants for prospective DevSecOps engineering opportunities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESTechnical Learning & Engineering SupportAssist with the setup, deployment, and maintenance of Rancher Kubernetes and container solutions under the guidance of senior engineers.Learn to troubleshoot foundational DevOps issues across Linux, containerization, and cloud-native technologies.Help build reusable scripts, automation templates, and CI/CD pipelines for testing and deployment.Work with mentors to learn security hardening, monitoring, and zero-trust principles applicable to secure and government environments.Guided Consultation & Knowledge SharingShadow senior engineers during technical workshops, technical deep dives, and proof-of-concept exercises.Assist in documenting user feedback, technical use cases, and best practices for internal knowledge sharing.Participate in internal training and team discussions to continuously build industry-relevant skills.
