CNC Lathe Machinist/Pfisterer North America (PNA)
The CNC Lathe Machinists SkillBridge training plan is to build a pipeline of trained and qualified machinists to meet the production needs of Pfisterer North America, Inc., a global leader in electrical connection technology. A CNC Lathe Machinist operates and sets up CNC Lathe Machines to manufacture advance technological precision parts for high, medium, low and residential voltage underground connecting cables. Machinists inspect the quality of these finished electrical connections to insure that the jointing and termination of cables can utilize cable lugs, a product with technical and practical advantages that compression technology cannot match. Our machined product are used in industrial to residential environments including renewable industries of solar, wind, etc.
POSITION SUMMARY:Responsible to the set up and operation of CNC lathe machines. Senior position with responsibility of loading programs and troubleshooting for accurate production of quality products. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND REPONSIBILITIES:1. Set up and operate CNC lathe machines to perform precision machining operations2. Select and install tooling, fixtures and attachments for efficient and accurate machining3. Monitor machine operations to ensure quality and adherence to specifications4. Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance5. Inspect finished products for accuracy and conformance to specifications6. Troubleshoot and resolve issues that may arise during the machining process.ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:1. 5 years of experience operating CNC lathe machines in a manufacturing or production environment2. Strong knowledge of basic math and measurement tools3. Understanding of tooling concepts and selection4. Knowledge of quality control processes in a machining environment PHYSICAL DEMANDS1. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted. 2. Standing, bending, lifting throughout the day 3. Fast paced environment, occasionally4. Work performed in an indoor climate
Safety shoe allowance of $200/yr. Must have on first day of employment.
