Construction/Homebuilding - Pre-Apprenticeship Program
Veteran Futures Academy is Operation Lifeline’s in-person construction pre-apprenticeship program for transitioning service members and veterans in Northeast Florida. The program provides classroom instruction, industry-recognized credential preparation, supervised hands-on construction training, employability skills, and pathways into registered apprenticeship, construction employment, or continued skilled trades training.
Participants train for entry-level residential construction roles, apprenticeship-track positions, and construction operations pathways. Training focuses on construction safety, basic tool use, materials handling, construction math, communication, employability skills, supervised field application, and residential construction and rehabilitation practices. Participants are prepared to support construction teams on residential building, repair, and rehabilitation projects while developing the skills and professionalism needed for continued advancement in the skilled trades.
Open to all MOS / ratings / AFSCs.
Participants must be eligible for SkillBridge participation through their military command, be within their approved transition window, and be able to participate in an in-person training program in Northeast Florida. Participants should have an interest in residential construction, rehabilitation, skilled trades employment, registered apprenticeship pathways, or related hands-on career fields. Participants must be able to safely participate in classroom instruction, supervised field training, and basic construction-related activities.
Operation Lifeline’s SkillBridge opportunity provides transitioning service members a structured pathway into residential construction, skilled trades employment, construction operations, and registered apprenticeship opportunities. Participants receive practical training, credential preparation, supervised field exposure, employability skills, and career readiness support at no direct cost to the service member. Participants may pursue full-time employment or apprenticeship-track opportunities with construction employers after successful completion of the program.
