NMC CNC Maintenance Apprentice/Technician
- For service members to learn how to recognize the need for a CNC machine to have preventative maintenance or repair during operation by way of following a maintenance schedule in ProShop software; and/or, if machine is not functioning properly, diagnose and treat the problem to be repaired accordingly, including acquisition or manufacture of required part to correct the problem.
The person assigned to the Maintenance Technician position is responsible for maintenance, repairs, and the creation of schedules for the areas of: CNC Equipment, Air Compressors, and Facilities.Perform preventative maintenance weekly/monthly, as required by machine requirements.Diagnose, repair and perform maintenance when manufacturing equipment will not function due to mechanical or electrical issues.• CNC Machine diagnostics, preventative maintenance, repair, and replacement of parts• HVAC preventative maintenance and minor repair• Plumbing related maintenance and repair• Chiller maintenance and repair on CNC machines• Driving the company truck to perform pickups and deliveries, as needed for repair parts and or appropriate tools for repairs and maintenance.• Air compressor preventative maintenance and repairs• Assists the QMS Representative and Facilities/IT Maintenance Supervisor with safety audits and issues.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time, climb ladders, lay down flat on the floor, and use both arms to reach in all areas of equipment.Must be able to lift 50 lb.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.• Ability to organize and maintain own work area and perform assigned functions with limited supervision or direction.• Understanding of fundamental inventory management and control practices.• Mature decision-making skills and judgment.• Ability to work effectively with a minimum of direct supervision; takes initiative to do what is necessary to perform assigned jobs and to ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment; is a self-starter.• Ability to effectively recognize and to handle problems when they occur, keeping in mind the best interests of the company; exhibits good judgment and maturity.• Some knowledge of carpentry and plumbing.• Considerable knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions pertaining to CNC, Air Compressor, and HVAC maintenance and repair.• Some knowledge of maintenance and repair of machine shop tools and equipment.
