Solar Technician
Put Your Military Training to Work in America's Clean Energy Future NextEra Energy Resources is one of America's largest wholesale electricity generators — and we're looking for transitioning service members who are ready to bring their technical skills, discipline, and mission-focus to the solar energy industry. Our 90-day SkillBridge internship places you directly at our solar sites where you'll work alongside experienced energy professionals maintaining and operating utility-scale solar PV systems. This is hands-on, real-world experience in a high-demand field — not a classroom.
What You'll Be Doing as a Solar Field Technician intern, you'll support daily operations across solar PV collection assemblies and AC/DC inverters, performing electrical, mechanical, and electronic troubleshooting, preventive and corrective maintenance, safety and environmental compliance, and inventory and asset management. You will also support regional teammates across nearby states — mission variety you'll recognize from your service. Why Your Military Background Is a Perfect Fit you have worked in a technical MOS — electrical, mechanical, power generation, avionics, or similar field. You already have the foundation we are looking for. NextEra values the discipline, safety mindset, and technical aptitude that military service develops.
