DoW SkillBridge Fellowship - Loss Mitigation Specialist
The Newrez DoD SkillBridge Fellowship provides transitioning service members with hands-on experience in mortgage servicing while developing the skills needed for a successful civilian career. Participants receive structured training in Loss Mitigation, learning how to assist homeowners facing financial hardship through customer communication, mortgage resolution strategies, and industry best practices. Upon successful completion, fellows are prepared to pursue a Loss Mitigation Specialist career with Newrez, a nationally recognized Military Friendly employer.
Designed specifically for active military service members, Newrez’s DoD SkillBridge Fellowship enables transitioning service members to gain civilian work experience with a leading mortgage lender while learning how to transfer their skills to a corporate setting. You dedicated yourself to protecting our Country, begin your next mission with Newrez helping people achieve the American Dream of Homeownership.A Loss Mitigation SkillBridge Fellow can expect to learn the tools needed to become a successful Loss Mitigation Specialist who are responsible for establishing contact, communicating, and negotiating with borrowers, investors, and real estate agents, via verbal and written means, to resolve at-risk mortgages. In addition, the Loss Mitigation Specialist will review, counter, and approve proposed solutions within their delegated authority.After successful completion of our DoD SkillBridge Fellowship, candidate can expect to be a Loss Mitigation Specialist with an organization that is nationally recognized as a top Military Friendly Company and Brand.
