Join Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) code A10 an Computer Scientist (1550 series).Program duration is flexible: 180 days standard, or 90 days for participants with relevant experience or specific training needs.This SkillBridge internship provides a valuable opportunity for transitioning service members with a background or interest in computer science, cybersecurity, or software engineering to contribute to high-impact Naval programs. As a Software Developer/Cybersecurity Intern, you will support the development and security of critical systems, including weapon systems, targeting software, and infrastructure tools. Under the guidance of experienced developers and engineers, you will gain hands-on experience in system design, code implementation, testing, and documentation, preparing you for a successful transition into the civilian defense workforce.
The SkillBridge intern will work alongside experienced scientists, engineers, and program managers, contributing to the development and support of critical Naval defense systems. The intern will be assigned to a mission-focused technical division within NSWCDD, working on projects related to areas such as:Laser Weapons SystemsElectromagnetic SystemsElectronic WarfareSoftware-Based Control SystemsSafety Engineering Programs
- Current participant of the Department of Defense SkillBridge Program- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science- Must be a US Citizen.- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
Length of Training: Up to 24 weeks (based on separation timeline: 180/120/90 days) Timeline: 12-24 weeks.
