Naval Information Warfare center Pacific - SATCOM Test and Evaluation Technician/Engineer - Internship
Intern will support the Protected and Wideband SATCOM (PAWS) Branch Code at NIWC Pacific in tasking related (but not limited to) Satellite Communications (SATCOM) system engineering, technical, maintenance (preventive and corrective), and performance tasks for the Land Based Test Facility (LBTF), a NAVWAR test support facility for the U.S. Navy SATCOM programs.
In support of the Protected and Wideband SATCOM (PAWS) Branch tasking related (but not limited to) Satellite Communications (SATCOM) system engineering, technical, maintenance (preventive and corrective), and performance tasks for the Land Based Test Facility (LBTF), a NAVWAR test support facility for the U.S. Navy SATCOM programs. Systems include (but are not limited to) the Advanced Extremely High Frequency (AEHF) and Extremely High Frequency (EHF) Navy Multiband Terminals (NMT), Global Broadcast Service (GBS) system, Super High Frequency (SHF) system, Enhanced Bandwidth Efficiency Modem (EBEM), Wideband Anti-Jam Modem System Modem (WAMS), and the Assured Command and Control (AC2) system. Intern may conduct development, testing, and participate in working groups as part of an integrated product team (IPT) responsible for supporting the operation and maintenance of the various SATCOM terminals. Efforts may involve (but are not limited to) working with cryptographic devices, test equipment, computer-controlled test monitors, automated data collection systems, baseband equipment, and associated systems of systems to meet existing and emerging operational and testing requirements of the LBTF. Support a wide-range of projects, which may include major activity operational projects or programs. Based on experience, may be appointed to ad hoc tasks, which may include supporting cybersecurity, configuration management, operations, test planning, technical documentation, and diagramming. Technical proficiency, delivery of milestones and objectives, management of tasks and resources, and ability to collaborate in a team environment will be considered prime indicators of performance.
Experience: 5-10 Years B.S., M.S., M.Eng (Recommended) Certs: COMPTIA Security Plus (Cybersecurity), CCNA (Networking)Systems: NMT, ATIP, GBS, EHF, MPSS, WAMS-GS, AC2M-GS
Secret or above active security clearance
