Submarine Communications SME
The Shore Submarine C4I (SSC) Integrated Product Team (IPT) is within the Fleet C4I and Readiness Department of NIWC Atlantic. Its purpose is to provide technical, engineering, and logistics support for submarine specific communications paths installed globally at U.S. Navy shore stations and transmitter sites. The SSC IPT is the In Service engineering Agent (ISEA) for the Fixed Submarine Broadcast System (FSBS) High Power Transmitter Equipment, the Submarine Operating Authority (SOA), and the Low Band Universal Communications System (LBUCS). The SSC IPT also assists with design, development, testing, and fielding of new submarine communications systems to upgrade or replace existing systems.
As an engineer within the SSC IPT, this role will perform analysis, troubleshooting, testing, repair, training, and updating technical and logistics documentation for one or more of the following equipment types: FSBS, SOA, or LBUCS. The engineer will contextualize findings and recommendations through the lens of the Theater Undersea Warfare Command and the Broadcast Control Authority.
