Program summary

The objective of this position is to work with a team of professional engineers, project managers, senior leadership, etc. to gain exposure to project work in the engineering industry. Additionally, the Service member will be honing the skills that they've been studying and beginning their career in the profession. We hope for the Service member to utilize the skills they learn throughout their education and their time at Mott MacDonald and use them throughout the rest of their career. Roles & job description

Engineering specialities will include an introduction to conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design. An introduction to site inspection, investigation, and monitoring. An introduction to design calculation, computation using formula and preparation of calculations. Review, assistance and modification of reports, specifications, and studies. Introductory opportunities to use software to engineering design related projects. Get involved with our Early Career Professionals network and participate in webinars, lunch and learn opportunities, etc. Project management specialties will include coordination of project deliverables. Reporting on project status, assessing risk, schedule, and delivery options. Act as part of a team of professionals on multiple projects. Ability to identify and solve design and construction challenges. Maintain and build relationships with new and existing clients. Participate in proposal preparation. Prepare and monitor work plan, scope, schedule, and budgets. Construction specialties such as inspection, construction management, field engineering, etc. will include, monitoring and verifying daily construction activities. Track and report quantities. Prepare daily reports. Perform inspections. Oversee construction activities of field staff including inspectors, field engineers, admin staff, etc. Monitor work for compliance to schedule, budget, technical specifications, and legal requirements. Resolve field construction problems. Attend regular progress meetings and reports on project status. Review contractors' requests for change and assist with contract change orders and modifications. Communicate safety rules, policies, and procedures Other specialties will include programs specifically designed based on skillset on the individual and team that they will be on.

Open to all MOS / ratings / AFSCs.

Eligibility notes

Experience in engineering or construction management or related field to position. Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction or related field to position preferred. Professional engineer license preferred but, not required.
