The Vice President's Office, Division of Agriculture, Forestry, and Veterinary Medicine and the G.V. “Sonny Montgomery” Center for America’s Veterans Office is seeking a highly motivated SkillBridge Intern to support developing and implementing an Agricultural and Statecraft program, aligning the University’s agricultural expertise with the evolving demands of competitive statecraft. The intern will assist in building a strategic program that integrates food and agriculture into statecraft discussions, coordinating symposiums, fostering engagement with military-affiliated students and broader university audiences, and expanding awareness of global agricultural and security issues.
1. Program Developmento Assist in the development of the Agricultural and Statecraft program, focusing on strategic connections between agriculture, food security, and national power.o Support the development of educational modules on competitive statecraft, agriculture, and food systems.2. Event Coordinationo Organize symposiums, conferences, and seminars focused on food and agricultural statecraft issues, bringing together experts in competitive strategy, geospatial intelligence, agricultural trade, and policy.o Coordinate outreach to invite distinguished speakers from academia, government, and the private sector, focusing on the role of agriculture in national and global security.3. Student Engagemento Foster a learning environment for military and civilian students through workshops, networking events, and training sessions related to agricultural statecraft.o Develop engagement strategies to increase participation among students in programs focusing on food, agriculture, and security.4. Research and Analysiso Conduct background research on U.S., allied, and adversarial agricultural and food strategies.o Evaluate open-source geospatial and policy data to assess risks and opportunities in agriculture, food security, and statecraft.o Contribute to white papers, policy briefs, and reports on key issues in agricultural statecraft and competitive strategy.5. Strategic Partnershipso Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, private industry, and academic institutions, to advance the goals of FACSI.o Identify partnership opportunities that reinforce FACSI’s goals of modeling risk, analyzing technological shifts, and conceptualizing statecraft strategies.
