Warfighter to Firefighter
Upon successful completion of the Warfighter to Firefighter program, participants will have the basic knowledge, skills, abilities, and certifications needed to obtain employment as a Firefighter.
Firefighters respond to fires, medical emergencies, hazardous materials incidents, and technical rescue incidents to protect life and property.
Application Prerequisites: EMR, EMT, or Paramedic from National Registry Certification (NREMT) or CA state EMT or Paramedic license and Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification.
Our program will align with an Accredited Basic Fire Academy. Participants will complete online fire academy modules each training day. Throughout each training day manipulative (hands on) training will take place covering aspects learned during the online training. These skills will be monitored by MCLB Barstow Fire and Emergency Services Instructors. Upon completion of the Fire Academy participants may be assigned to an Engine Company to observe daily operations and gain real on the job experience.
