The intent of the software engineering fellowship is to introduce and train the SkillBridge fellow in the core competencies and best practices for performing agile software development. The position will integrate the SkillBridge software engineer as part of a scrum development team with responsibilities for performing activities across the software development lifecycle. Clearly express how the organization’s SkillBridge training objectives align with job competencies for each block of training (usually derived from a job task analysis for the targeted job. The majority of the internship will consist of "Scrum Sprints". The goal of the Scrum Sprints is to integrate the SkillBridge fellow into the scrum team and to familiarize the individual with the scrum software development process. Over the course of each successive sprint, the team is expected to seek continual improvement while maturing the software solution. The SkillBridge fellow will be exposed to all facets of the software development lifecycle and will be responsible for working on all aspects of the solution development and delivery.
ManTech’s Mission Intelligence Division is looking for a Software Engineering SkillBridge Intern to join our team. This exciting opportunity will support the development of a proof of concept cloud based software solution. The successful candidate will learn the skills for developing and delivering new capabilities and enhancements to a cloud native, web based software application. The ideal candidate will have web development experience and work alongside the Tech Lead and develop new capabilities for the solution. Work will primarily be performed onsite at the ManTech Herndon office with limited opportunities for remote work.Learning Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Support development and enhancement of proof of concept cloud native web applicationDelivering capabilities into the application tied to requirements from the Tech LeadAdvise solution team on software engineering best practices including testing strategies, performance tuning, and system architectureDemonstrate the technical background and skills to perform in all phases of software design, development, documentation, and implementationProvide recommendations to refactor and improve system capabilities and performanceOther related technical duties as assigned
Basic knowledge with software programs, interest and ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance, pass background and drug screening tests, ability to work a hybrid work schedule and come onsite to the Herndon, VA location.
