Medical Technician
By completing this 120-day SkillBridge internship, participants will have completed approximately 680 hours of supervised medical operations training aligned to TSJTS standards. Graduates will demonstrate:Familiarity with prescreen review, applicant intake, medical screening, and examination workflows. Proficiency supporting vital signs, vision testing, hearing examinations, and basic accession exam support. Understanding of HIPAA, confidentiality, safety requirements, and professional conduct. Ability to navigate MHS GENESIS workflows, maintain documentation accuracy, and uphold data security. Experience supporting advanced tasks including profiling, RAT, ancillary services, shipping inspect, and quality review. Readiness to operate as a supervised Medical Technician within MEPS or comparable medical environments. The participant will leave the program with a strong foundation in medical operations, system literacy, applicant processing, and compliance — fully prepared for transition into civilian or federal medical support roles.
Serves as a Medical Technician at a Military Entrance Processing Station. The participant assists Medical Officers with examinations, supports identification of observable physical characteristics, contributes to screening workflows, and helps ensure applicant fitness determinations are made accurately and compliantly. All duties are performed under direct supervision and in accordance with MEPS medical policies and procedures.
