Lakeshore Engineering
A construction internship with Lakeshore Engineering provides hands-on experience supporting construction projects by assisting with site supervision, project planning, and coordination. Interns can help review drawings, track progress, maintain safety standards, prepare reports, and collaborate with engineers, contractors, and project managers to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Program Orientation & Industry Overview - Understand the structure of the construction industry, key project roles, company expectations, and internship goals. Construction Site Safety & OSHA Fundamentals - Identify common jobsite hazards, demonstrate safe work practices, and understand OSHA standards and reporting procedures. Construction Drawings & Specifications - Read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings and understand how specifications guide construction work. Construction Materials & Methods - Recognize common construction materials and understand basic installation methods and quality standards. Tools, Equipment, and Technology -Safely identify and use common hand tools, power tools, and construction technologies such as total stations, drones, or field apps. Quality Control & Inspections - Understand quality standards, inspection processes, and documentation required to ensure compliant construction work. Sustainability & Environmental Compliance - Understand sustainable construction practices, waste management, and environmental regulations impacting construction sites. Career Development & Industry Pathways - Explore career paths in construction, understand certifications and licensure, and develop professional goals.
